Today marks the 30th anniversary of Pacman, which is one of the first video games I got to play.
30 Years ago, on May 22, 1980 the game was released in Japan by Namco-Bandai for arcade machines, and soon became one of the best known icons of the 1980’s.
Well, it seem to age well. In the video games industry it holds true that the more things change, the more they stay the same. Arcade games are still popular on a wide range of platforms, from the small mobile devices like IPhone to the most powerful consoles, like the XBox 360 (in the Live Arcade section of Xbox live).
I Still like it today, and so does other millions of players – just as much as I did back in the 80’s.
